Bob McDonnell, the Virginia Governor who recently proclaimed April as Confederate History Month issued a clarification today. He explained the failure to mention slavery in the proclamation was because it wasn't "significant" enough. Previous Governors at least had the decency to honor the victims of slavery as well as the civil war in their proclamations.
I guess he's not going after the black vote in Virginia which amounts to 20% of the population.
McDonnell also gained notice a few weeks ago when he ordered that sexual discrimination be excluded from state discrimination laws applying to all state offices, universities and schools.
