At 70%, Alaska has the highest debt to GDP ratio of all 50 states. As Mayor of Wassilla Sarah Palin increased spending by 63% and increased the town's long term debt from $1M to $20M, or $3,000 per person because she totally botched a deal to build an ice hockey arena.
So how's that hopey, changey fiscal discipline working out for ya, Sarah baby.
