High turnout in judicial election in Wisconsin

Reports are that turnout is huge for a spring election in Wisconsin. This election can be seen as the first shots (at least at the ballot booth in the fight for the future of America. The GOP have declared war on the middle class in a way that not even George W. did at his worst. Polls close at 8PM Central Time.

The election will either allow a 4-3 conservative majority to survive or switch to a more liberal majority. Judges are supposed to be impartial, especially Supreme Court judges. Will no party affiliation is allowed in judicial elections, partisanship, by the very nature of elections is inevitable Why?
