Socialism comes to Fountain Hills, Arizona

Fountain Hills is a bedroom community outside Phoenix with a population of about 25,000 people. Famed Sheriff Joe Arpaio is a resident and 96% of the town is white and conservative.

War has broken out in Fountain Hills over garbage collection, with Tea Party residents accusing the town of turning to socialism. Five separate companies collect garbage in the town With only 8,000 households this makes little sense on an economic and practical level so the town council put out bids for one trash collection company to do the entire town. This would save the town $1 million a year, or about $125 per household.

Even more ominous was the fact that the town would start using separate bins for recycled waste. Talk about a 'one world government' plot. Arizona is the only state in the U.S. that doesn't charge a redemption value ta on recyclable bottles. The result is more bottles and cans littering the sides of roads in Arizona than any other state, but who cares, lots of open space in Arizona.

Tea Party ideology meets the real world and the results are ludicrous, They hate public spending but aren't bothered by an additional $125 per household for something that is impractical on so many different levels,
