Missouri is home to more than 30% of the "Puppy Mills" in the U.S. largely because of an absence of regulation against inhumane treatment of the dogs. Proposition B, if passed in November, will regulate conditions at these "Puppy Mills".
The Proposition would ensure “sufficient food and clean water, necessary veterinary care, sufficient housing, including protection from the elements, sufficient space to turn and stretch freely, lie down, and fully extend his or her limbs, regular exercise, and adequate rest between breeding cycles.”
The Tea Party is actively campaigning against this. Joe the Plumber has hopped on board as have the Missouri Cattlemen's Association, fearing they might be next. They oppose the Proposition because it's about “government or the big company trying to tell people what to do.” I have no idea what the mean by 'the big company' but that's another story.
These radical socialist ideas like treating animals humanely have to be stopped according to the Tea Party.
My question to them is where do you draw the line? If it's okay to mistreat animals because government can't tell you what to do, is it okay to mistreat children or women? Is it okay to cheat on your taxes? Is it okay to drive while intoxicated because that is the government telling you what to do?
I can only assume the Tea Party hates puppies.

"Is it ok to mistreat children or women?"
Um ain't it you liberals who tell the government not to tell you not to have an abortion?
I guess I can only conclude that you hate babies, much as the Tea Party hates puppies.
I'm just sayin'.
