Texas allows corporal punishment for students in school
Conservatives have been waging war against teacher's Unions, against a curriculum that doesn't necessarily cater to their world view and is happy to move funds from public schools to charter and private schools. You would think they don't trust teachers except when it comes to dishing out corporal punishment. They no longer need parent's permission to hit students. Not that I'm surprised but parts of this country are becoming more and more neanderthal.
